Dear Heart-Centered Leader,
I was literally just looking into additional counseling resources within an institution I’m already receiving services from. The front desk person, the main contact for booking therapy, tells me…
“You need to look elsewhere.”
Let me be clear, I’ve been in business across all levels and sectors for over 25 years. My understanding of internal and external customer and client care runs deep. And one thing I know for sure:
You never tell someone who is asking for help to go elsewhere.
Not when you’re the first point of contact.
Not when you’re supposed to be holding space.
Not when your organization is built to serve.
The front line is your business. Your front desk, your intake call, your first email, they are the voice of your mission.
If you don’t truly mind your business with care, structure, and empathy, you are letting the lifeblood leak out, whether profusely or gradually, until it’s gone. Institutions will grow, but far too many leaders value any growth over the kind that sustains. I’m speaking to the ones who care about growth that is steady, meaningful, invisible in its strength and visible in its impact.
And because I always look at all sides, I’ll say this too. I know this institution is going through major internal transitions. I’ve heard it from people inside. And maybe that rep on the phone was saying, in their own way, “We can’t help you the way you need right now.”
Maybe I was so deep in my own need, I couldn’t hear the quiet burnout in their voice.
When pressure rises, care is usually the first thing to fade. It’s the first to be pushed aside when systems are stretched, leaders are overwhelmed, or teams are just trying to make it through the day.
And that’s exactly why healing-centered leadership matters.
Because care cannot be optional.
Care cannot be an afterthought.
Care is the culture.
At Coach Kenyatte, I believe systems don’t heal people, people within systems do. That is why I root everything I offer in healing-centered leadership, radical empathy, and operational integrity. Whether you’re leading a team, raising or mentoring others, or simply trying to stay relevant in these systems and this society, you deserve tools and support that help you not only survive, but thrive, without dimming your light or disconnecting from the love and empathy that already live in you.
Because serving your purpose shouldn’t cost you your humanity.
So as you move through this week, pause and really ask yourself, how are you minding your business, your relationships, your leadership, and your life?
Because it’s all connected.
The way you answer a call, hold a conversation, run a meeting, or love on your people, it all reveals how you lead and how you live.
When care disappears, connection follows.
When empathy erodes, excellence suffers.
Without love, purpose loses its power to heal.
Healing-centered leadership starts at the intersection of how you live, how you love, and how you lead. It is the work of showing up in full humanity, even when the people within systems forget what that means.
So whether you’re leading a business, a family, a team, or yourself through a tough season…
Maybe this is your time.
Maybe this is your call to lead with heart.
To heal forward.
To join Coach Kenyatte’s crusade.
Because your humanity is not a liability.
Your heart is not a hindrance.
They are the foundation of everything that will last.
Keep leading with love. Keep healing forward.
And above all else, always remember to, “Love The Hell Out of Yourself™.”
